Cooking Tool Care & Safety

Cooking Tool Care & Safety

Before use

Wash tools before first use and inspect them before each use. Do not use an item that is cracked, loose, badly deformed or otherwise damaged. Keep handles away from open flames and direct contact with hot heating elements.

Heat and food contact

Use each tool only for its intended kitchen task. Product materials and heat exposure vary by item; do not assume a heat-resistance temperature that is not stated on the product page or supplied instructions. Never leave tools unattended in hot cookware.

Cleaning

Use mild dish detergent and a non-abrasive sponge unless the product instructions state otherwise. Dry thoroughly after washing, especially around joints, wood-look surfaces and metal components. Do not use harsh abrasives, bleach or damaged tools on food-contact surfaces.

Storage and supervision

Store clean and dry. Keep sharp, heavy or hot tools away from children, and supervise children in the kitchen. Cooking tools are not toys.
